A FAMILY REFERENDUM ON COMPANIONSHIP

A campaign for
companionship.

While you’re flying back from the Middle East, a certain someone will have celebrated her birthday.

An important decision. A very reasonable proposal.

Room for one more.

More company. A proper plan. And room to say “maybe”.

Should we cat… or should we dog? More company, with a proper plan: brush the fur, clean daily, meet and match noise and energy. Nix is the primary carer. Meet first. Choose together. Room for one more? Room to say maybe.

  • I compared affection and personality with daily care, noise, health, safe handling and a possible future apartment.
  • I used veterinary, animal-welfare and breed sources, alongside Australian breeder leads for us to investigate.
  • We’ll choose together after meeting animals and checking each breeder’s health evidence.

Addressing your concerns

Practical answers about cleaning, daily care and cost. These answers are open, so there is no need to click each question.

Will the house smell?

Plan for daily waste removal, clean bowls and bedding, and a suitable toilet area. Cats need accessible, regularly cleaned litter trays. A sudden or persistent new smell deserves investigation, not perfume.

How much shedding and grooming?

Low shedding and low grooming are different jobs. We’ll compare loose fur, brushing and paid grooming separately. No hypoallergenic promises.

Who will do the daily care?

I will be the primary carer. Before choosing, we’ll agree who handles feeding, cleaning, walking, grooming, vet visits and any backup after a move. Mum and Dad’s help is a conversation, not an assumption.

What about the cats visiting our patio?

Our pet cat would live indoors. Before arrival, we need a separate plan for patio feeding, clean bowls, secure doors and managing visitors near windows. No shared feeding station with the new pet.

What will a pet cost?

We need to budget for the purchase, equipment, food, grooming, routine veterinary care and unexpected treatment. Prices and insurance depend on the individual pet. Each pet’s information includes a simple budget worksheet. Its starting figures are examples, not researched quotes.

You’re coming home on 9 November. My birthday is the day before. Naturally, I have prepared a very cute proposal for a furry family member.

No pet bought. No passenger booked. Just some very cute possibilities for us to explore together.
